(解説) 帯落では、アゴのすり上げを学んでください。 すり上げるというのは、単にアゴを上に上げているのではなく、手がアゴに当たる前から上げる動作を行っています。さらに、壁をすり上げるように、アゴを押したり、引いたりせず、まっすぐ上に上がるようにします。 全身運動で、すり上げる稽古をしてください。
(Commentary)
This KATA “Obiotoshi” teaches how to make an opponent unbalanced by raising his chin upward. The meaning of raising his chin up is not just an action of pushing his chin upward but an action of raising his body upward. Before your hand reaches his chin, the action of raising his chin up by your hand has to be ready. It means that you firstly squat down and put your hand ready to touch his chin and then move up pushing his chin up vertically by leg strength.

[The basic “KATA” and applied change technique]
There are many techniques to learn from the basic practice of “KATA”. The first essential teaching is to practice while staying conscious of each movement, and once you are accustomed to these movements and sensations, it is important to practice them until you move through these movements in a flow, unconsciously. What’s more, through this practice you will acquire confidence, and learn to apply and change the techniques learned from the basic “KATA” to acquire a variety of techniques and more advanced skills.
